RIP brother

It´s the week day again. Our project today was mostly finishing painting the house so we can start building the garage tomorrow. It´s very sunny... and I only have a short time left until we need to head back so forgive my briefness.

Saturday we went to the lake to chill out, and was treated to a homemade dinner from one of the church families. They were so nice. They have 6 daughters, one son, and one baby on the way! Delicious empanadas!

Sunday we had a greeeeat lunch at a fancy restaurant for a 4th of july treat. They had a live band and we all danced in the middle of the courtyard... the Bolivians laughed and one person video taped us. hahaha. It was great fun. Then we went to the river. Unfortunately someone drowned while we were there. The current picked up and two brothers weren´t too good of swimmers, so one was saved and the other wasn´t found. It was such a shock and the drive back was a lot quieter than normal. The guy who died was 21 years old, a brother of one of the players of the La Palmera soccer team. The sunset was really beautiful yesterday.

After a pizza dinner, with coke of course, we set off the best fireworks! I´m not sure where they got them from, but they shot up in the air, made huge bangs, lots of lights... and a lot of the time they didn´t work quite right so you really had to look out, but it made it that much more fun. It´s a good thing Lorna didn´t stay up to see what we were doing in her yard. haha. Even though I didn´t get to do a legoman sacrifice (a tradition in my family on the 4th of july) I´d say it was a pretty good show.

Gotta go!
Jonathan

  1. Sounds like a full spectrum experience...life, death, laughter, tears, work, play, etc. etc. That's going to make for many lifetime memories!

  2. Jonathan,

What a shock! My heart goes out to the family of the young man and prayers too. I imagine you all were pretty stunned. I am sorry.

Glad to hear you are enjoying the food and families of the church.

Remember to lean on each other during these tougher times and pray together. God is good and He will provide.
    Blessings,
    Kristyn
